The Artist
Nada Almuqahwi, a Bahraini artist born in 1992. Her artistic journey began in 2017, following the loss of her mother. During this difficult period, art became a refuge, a way to fill the void and channel her grief into creative expression.
While drawn to the contemporary and modern, She find herself deeply connected to abstract art, where the enigmatic nature of form and color allows for deeper, more personal interpretations.
She particularly drawn to the raw power and tactile qualities of materials like jesmonite, cement, and gypsum. These materials, steeped in strength and a touch of roughness, provide a perfect canvas for her playful aesthetic. My sculptures often feature simple, fluid shapes rendered in vibrant colors.
Recent years she actively participate in the local art scene, culminating in a 2nd-place win at the 49th Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition.
Her art serves as a reflection of the human experience, exploring universal emotions like love, strength, loneliness, fear, and hope. She strive to reimagine these feelings, translating them into unique and thought-provoking artworks.
